A few months ago I wrote about my new desk setup. This week the setup has had its first major update.
I'm now running ethernet to my Dell monitor which via USB-C has ethernet connected to my MacBook Pro.
I have an eero mesh router in my office now which was generously donated by my friend Mike.
This runs ethernet to the monitor.
The network is then routed via USB-C.
To get this all working I had to install the Realtek macOS driver which was slightly annoying but these are the kind of problems you get when you don't buy Apple monitors.
I now don't have Wi-Fi connected at all to my laptop and am still get hopefully as perfect as possible networking.
Download and upload speeds haven't changed much but I think the biggest win is stability.
Hopefully sometime soon the telco providers will drop NBN plans so I can afford higher speeds than 25/10.
