We've also acquired 2 new boards.
The first board is an 8"0 Gnaraloo foam board which has a high volume (85L). This has been awesome for board for us to learn on as it floats like a boat. It also has really good paddle power.
The second board is a 7"6 Critical Slide epoxy board which also has a good amount of volume (53L). I've surfed this board 3 times now and have really loved it. I can get lots of waves in the smaller beach breaks and feel like it's building my confidence.
I must admit it's a lot easier than Symphony of the Night so far. This might be to do with the fact that it's a Game Boy Advance game. I've only had 1 challenging boss fight so far but I am getting up to the more difficult sections. I'm about halfway through I think.
The pixel art is stunning and the music is great. Castlevania always has some very catchy tunes.
Crazy Jack Nicklaus won this but Greg Norman should have got it done. He choked so many times in his career.

It was a very smooth transition for the most part. I copied all the files across, and since harrisonmalone.com uses Cloudflare for DNS, I was able to use a custom subdomain (images.harrisonmalone.com) for all the assets in R2.
I then did a DB update to change all the image urls for my music and games page. This was very quick with some help from codex.
I also did a small rewrite of my update-blog script to ensure that the Date: added to the front matter for my posts is observed. I could then just do a simple find-and-replace to update all the image urls across my site.
The tickets that Codex can now generate based on the little context I give it is insane. From basic requirements to acceptance criteria; it's just so much better and faster for the AI to do the ticket creation for you.

]]>To install it I mounted a slab of wood onto my weatherboard house and got ChatGPT to recommend some screws. I also learnt that the screws needed to go into where the studs were in the wall. The actual mount for the hose was then attached to the slab of wood. I used the same screws again as these were easier to drill than the ones that came with the hose.
It also works flawlessly in Safari whereas a few years ago it seemed stable only in Chrome.

I think it makes more sense to use these kind of editors now given the shift away from needing an IDE with AI.
I want something as stripped back as this and use it in conjunction with tools like lazygit.
The Neo name is a bit of a surprise.
Using git is a much better solution to this problem.
In interacting with ChatGPT it came up with a scripting strategy whereby you have this alias in your .zshrc
alias dot='/opt/homebrew/bin/git --git-dir=$HOME/.dotfiles/ --work-tree=$HOME'
which creates an empty git directory named .dotfiles in your home and you interact with your dotfiles using dot instead of git.
So whenever I update my .zshrc now the flow is
dot status
dot add -u
dot commit -m "Commit message"
dot push
and everything is stored remotely in GitHub ready for a new machine whenever I switch.
I'm currently also storing my Ghostty config file as well as my .gitconfig. But the main thing I need to store somewhere safe is the .zshrc as I have a number of aliases and functions now that should be tracked.

For brainstorming and actually writing the code; it's been a brilliant tool to improve my productivity. It has also meant learning to work in a very different way. I no longer actually handwrite that much code. The agent has become so good at taking my instructions and running with it that it's no longer faster for me to type.
]]>It's just a cracking game. Beautiful pixel art, great bosses, cool music. I can see why some prefer Super Metroid due to the more non linear structure of the game but honestly I enjoyed being told where to go in Metroid Fusion. There were some points where you were still left with the mystery of where to go next but often it was just breaking a wall or going into a crawl space.
The whole Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS library is something I haven't explored much yet but there's a whole treasure trove of good games. I'll be playing them over the next few months I dare say.
We played at PicklePlay which was a converted office space. It was almost weird seeing the courts it what clearly used to be a space with cubicles and people doing 9-5 type work.
I can see why the sport has becomes so popular though. It's very social and doesn't require heaps of movement which is great for older people. You can have some very intense rallies.
