I finally have my desk somewhat setup.
I now have a:
- Dell U2723QE UltraSharp 27inch 4K
- Keychron C1 Wired Mechanical Keyboard (retro colour, brown switches)
- Logitech MX Master 3
The Dell Monitor is perfect for my use case. It's obviously not as nice as something like the Apple Studio Display but it's 4K and it connects to my Mac seamlessly via USB-C.
I've been a long time laptop user so I'm very used to the feel of the Mac keyboard with basically no travel.
When doing my work I've sometimes been struggling with typing accuracy. It's something that I just need to slowly adapt to. I like the feel and the look at the Keychron so I have no buyers remorse.
Where I do have some remorse is with the Logitech mouse. Don't get me wrong I like it. It performs well in most cases. I really like that it has extra buttons to do things like opening apps or switching to a different desktop.
Where I really miss my Macbook touchpad is a simple use case: scrolling.
Nothing comes close to the feel of scrolling on a Macbook with an Apple made touchpad. That's why I'm weighing up whether or not to get the Magic Touchpad.
