Full Echoes Of Wisdom Review

I finished Echoes of Wisdom yesterday. Here's a few thoughts and screenshots of the game:

  • It was a bit of a let down, the story and game mechanics were in my opinion not that great
  • The game felt too easy, I didn't play in hero mode but the base game should have felt more challenging IMO, the standard of "good level of challenge" for this kind of game is Tunic now for me
  • The performance was sometimes bad, it wasn't too noticeable but it was enough to be annoying, for this kind of game performance should not be an issue, Nintendo please release the Switch 2
  • If you found a really strong echo early then you were basically invincible
  • The puzzles in the dungeons could have been more interesting, some were super simple and just classic Zelda tropes like "light this thing on fire to open a door", classic puzzles are fine for nostalgia but they shouldn't be too common, I need some new puzzles
  • The map was nice, it was fun to explore and find new places and echoes
  • There were too many fast travel points, you could skip over a lot of the map and not explore if you were being lazy
  • The still world was okay but it felt a bit like filler before the real dungeons
  • The final boss battle with Null didn't have a satisfying ending, I beat the boss first time
  • You could make smoothies too easily to replenish energy
  • The art style was good, I'm totally okay with it, but I also see why people love the art style in A Link to the Past and The Minish Cap, would be cool for a new game to be in this kind of style
  • Money is this game didn't really count for anything, you didn't really need to buy anything
