I finally bought Hollow Knight and have played ~50% of the game.
As I expected it's an excellent Metroidvania with a tonne of interesting little quirks compared to a standard game in this genre.
It has:
- A beautiful art style that has amazing lighting effects
- Challenging enemies and bosses
- Combat that is simple but perfectly tuned
- Some fun dialog and characters that you meet as you journey into the depths
I'll keep progressing through the game and will likely be done in the next few weeks.
