Last year I had a "gadget of the year" category in my best entertainment of 2022 post which doesn't make a lot of sense.
So this year it gets it's own post.
A gadget is defined as follow:
a small mechanical or electronic device or tool, especially an ingenious or novel one.
To me a gadget is just an "electronic device or tool" so here are my favourites that I've used or discovered in the past year:
- Ring security cameras (video doorbell, spotlight cam)
- Callaway rogue irons
- Holman hose gun
We purchased some Ring's last year for the front yard but this year we also got a camera for the backyard. When we were away in the USA, having the camera to check on little Boots was such a nice thing to have. It was comforting to see him so happy and healthy. We're also now paying for the Ring Protect Plus plan which allows us to have footage saved from all the different angles of the house. We got this after someone broke into our car and stole a credit card.
The Callaway irons took some getting used to but I'm loving them now. Once I got my grip and posture sorted I've been hitting these irons well. They definitely have a lot of forgiveness being game-improvement clubs and I find myself hitting my irons more consistently these days.
The Holman hose gun is a random recommendation but it is by far the best hose gun I've ever had. We had a really crappy plastic one until recently so going for the heavy duty gun was a big upgrade. The different watering modes are super nice and it makes me want to water my garden rather than it being an annoyance.
