Baseball Verses College Football

We went to two uniquely American sporting experiences this week: college football and MLB.

What stands out from going to both is how much more I now enjoy the baseball.

At the football the food sucked (especially the cheese curds) and we were engulfed in noise and distraction. It was so stimulating it was actually somewhat difficult to follow the game. The student band was fantastic though.

The baseball was just a fantastic vibe. You get cheap tickets and can walk to basically any vantage point in the stadium. The food is better than the football (still not amazing) but you can sit, relax and eat it. The beer prices are outrageous but again the choice is better than the football.

Probably the best part about the baseball is that you can actually communicate with the people around you. It's a family atmosphere with kids running around and enjoying time with family. Everyone at the stadium is also just super friendly. The ticket person wants to have a chat (and ask you where you're from) and the food attendants want to refill your soft drinks.

If I come back to Minneapolis I'll happily go to the baseball again but not the college football.
