Boots has been going to the Moorabbin Dog Obedience Club one time a week since January this year.
Its been a great way for me to catch up with Mum and Jake who have been bringing Tilly and Daisy along.
But its also been some really great enrichment time for Boots learning new tricks and using his brain.
We started in puppy class and have now progressed to white 4.
Here's a list of the things he's learnt:
- Heel with turns of 90 or 180 degrees, this is basically what you spend most of class doing in white 4
- Puppy pushups
- Down and stay, the dog needs to stay for ~20 seconds before you walk a 360 around them
- Touch
- Loose leash walking
- Coming back when called
The actual class is also an absolute bargain. It's $70 for a full year which is amazing value for 2 classes per week.
I couldn't recommend it more for anyone with a puppy but especially working breeds.
