Had a decent round of golf today.
Shot a 45 on the front 9 which I was pretty happy with. I then had an average back 9 and shot 51.
I'll still take a round of 96
every day of the week.
This was the strategy that I went in with:
- Be confident off the tee, usually hit a 7, 5 or 3 iron
- Hit low straight shots as your approach shots on par 4 and 5s, this was usually a punchy 8 or 7 iron
With this low straight shot strategy I find that I can control the distance and direction of the ball pretty well. I can usually avoid hitting it with any curve. The goal of this kind of shot is to almost guarantee yourself the ball will fly ~130 metres straight.
