Playing a couple of holes yesterday made me realise something.
I'm often more effective when approaching greens with links style shots.
That means a low drawer working the ball right to left.
This strategy I think is especially good for longer par 5s where it's integral to just get the ball into position and be within a chip on after 3 shots.
I noticed as well that it can be an effective shot ~100 metres out when I'm in the rough on the left hand side of the fairway.
If I land it short and roll it up I'll usually be in a position where I can putt.
I know that I can hit this low shot solid and barely ever thin or fat it. I know approximately how far it will go.
I just need to practise it more on course and at the range.
