This is the journey a portion of my back lawn has taken over the last 2 months.
It started in early November on a wet day. Me and Emma excavated an area that had lots of weeds and stones in it.
You can see it on the left in the image below.
A tonne of dirt was dug up and stored in my backyard in a pile.
The seed germinated well and was protected from birds by some mesh netting.
Over the next few weeks we got a puppy and were also looking after a 1 year old dog.
They had free reign running on the new grass and dug it up a bit.
After putting some top soil on the area this is what the grass looked like about a month after the initial seeding.
It got a lot of water so it was green but it also needed a bit more love to get it to the level I wanted.
This is what the grass looks like today after a lot of water and also preventing dogs from running on it or digging it up.
There's a big difference in the new grass verses the established grass in terms of colour but I think it will blend in over time.
