Brisbane is the perfect city for electric scooters. It has a year round warm climate, has good bike paths and is not that large.
We used the Beam app. It's a solid app and I enjoyed the whole experience. There were heaps of scooters available so it wasn't hard to find one. It's clearly a very popular activity for tourists as you see heaps of people scootering around. We paid $14.95 to get any scooter for a whole day. I think that's reasonable.
The main issue I have is the frequent speed limiting. In certain locations the scooter will not allow you to go faster than 10-15km/h. You should give people the agency to do what they want. I'm okay with the 25km/h limit but this should be a permanent thing. You shouldn't have to randomly slow down in an area dictated by Beam.
