I played virtual golf at X-Golf a few days ago and I'm on the fence about whether I liked it.
To be totally honest I was stressed out about other things the day that I played as I was moving house the next day but I'm still not sure if I'd go back.
I liked hitting driver in the warm up. It gave an accurate reading on your ball flight and it would be an awesome training aid to have something like this in your home.
What I didn't like was the actual virtual game play. For one, I'm still not sure if you're meant to select the actual club you're hitting on each shot. There were some shots where it recommended I hit a 3 wood but I didn't have that it the bag so I opted for a completely different club. I think not using the club the game had auto selected had an impact on my ball flight.
I also hated putting. There's probably an option to turn this off but virtual putting is no fun.
At the end of the day golf is meant to be an outdoor sport where you're enjoying nature as well as playing the game.
