1Blocker

One of the biggest changes in iOS 15 were adding support for browser extensions in Safari. I'm keen to see how it plays out in terms of developer support.

I've just setup the ad blocking extension 1Blocker. It's the first extension I've ever used on a mobile browser. As I found it slightly tricky to actually get the ad blocking working I wanted to write a quick guide on how this is done.

  1. Install the app

  2. Open the app > click on "Block ads on websites"

  3. Open settings > Safari > Extensions > toggle on "1Blocker - Block Ads"

  4. If you want to turn on other settings in the extension like "Block Annoyances" you need upgrade to premium which is $5 a month or $24.50 a year
