Product Managers

I missed some reading from previous JEP sprints so this was a catchup! It's an excellent summary of what a product manager actually does. This does get misconstrued a lot with other roles that are required in software teams.

I see product managers now fulfilling two roles:

  1. They look at data and talk to customers about what the product needs, user funnels, event tracking, where are users dropping off? where do users engage? this is often seen as the discovery phase

  2. They work with designers on crafting mock ups, define requirements for developers through things like user flows, run usability tests with customers and get back to team on this, once product is built reach out to marketing to ensure new product gets exposure
