Tunic Is Done

What an awesome experience playing Tunic was.

As I went deeper into the game strategy against the bosses became more and more important.

I really had to think of:

  • What weapons to use
  • The movement patterns for when I can counter attack
  • Preserving stamina and potions
  • Collecting coins so I could buy the right equipment for the boss fights

The ending boss fight was satisfying and the progression in difficulty was tough but fair. I wish I had the skills to make games like this as I really enjoy them.

Golf Lesson April 2024

Some thoughts from today's golf lesson:

  • Grip and setup is solid
  • Weaker to neutral grip is good
  • Swing is generally okay
  • Right butt cheek at the top of swing touching wall, left butt cheek on wall as swing comes down, then hit ball to get shallow
  • This helps with sequencing, also should hit less shots fat
  • Was hitting more solid shots, could more easily hit draws with hybrid and the longer irons
  • With putting think you're hitting a slight draw, avoid the push and have better speed control

Boots Demented Toys

Boots has 4 favourite toys. They'll all now a bit demented.

First up there's Moo Moo. We stole Moo Moo from our friends Amy and Lachie and their dog Maisie. Moo Moo has been looked after well by Boots apart from the ears.

Then there's Monkey. Monkey is arguably Boots favourite toy but he's pulled all the stuffing out of the head this week so Monkey doesn't look too healthy. Boots can identify Monkey if it's in the toy box and we say "Get Monkey!".

A cheap rope toy from Kmart was a great buy. Boots loves playing tug of war with it. He's now up to his second rope toy as the first was slowly unfurled and broke into small pieces. This one is also pretty close to being thrown out.

Lastly, there's his stick. This stick has been around for months. It was recommended to us by our friends Mara and Kallan who got it for their dog Jack Jack. It's meant to taste like peanut butter. I don't think there's a hint of flavour left. He chews this everyday for at least 20 minutes. He sometimes chews it first thing on our bed at 7AM. The chewing noise is very loud and annoying when we're still trying to sleep.

ANZAC Day Classic#youtube.com

What a phenomenal game of football this was. Couple of things:

  • Both teams made huge errors in the last 2 minutes, felt like a draw was the deserved result
  • Collingwood need to switch on in the first 20 minutes of games, they've been hopeless in the past 2 weeks
  • Mark of the year and game of the year on one day is pretty special, especially in front of 90k+ people
  • The debate of "extra time" will come up again
