Cricket Pitch In Backyard

Yesterday one of my childhood dreams was fulfilled.

I had my own backyard cricket pitch.

The pitch played really well. It was a good size and had plenty of bounce and variation. Lessons learnt for next time is to bring bulk tennis balls and have some electrical tape on hand to make swing kings. I think we lost ~4 balls for 6 and out.

This was an awesome video on some at home training drills for hitting the ball solid with wedges.

I would love to have my own setup like this in the shed.

Prince Of Persia#youtube.com

I've had my eye on this game for a while. Glad to see it's reviewing well. I guess I'll be playing another Metroidvania soon.

I love this ad. I also still have no idea what I can do with the product.

Costs For Digital Ocean

I've had my first full month running this blog on a Digital Ocean droplet. These are the approximate costs:

  • Will be just under $10 AUD a month (give or take USD to AUD exchange rate)
  • The equates to around 744 hours of usage
  • Since shifting to using systemd everything has been very stable, if the server dies (often seemingly due to lack of RAM on the droplet) it will restart itself
  • My droplet has a 1-Core CPU, 512 MB of RAM, 10 GB SSD

Some shrewd advice from potentially the best music producer of all time.

Nike And Tiger#tiktok.com

I didn't know Hoka was doing so well in running and that Nike lost money in golf.

That 2000s run of Tiger, Federer and Manchester United produced some of the best sports gear of all time and also some of the best sporting highlights. Sad to see it's all gone now.

Coles Book Arcade#wikipedia.org

What an incredible Melbourne based story. This photo of the book store is amazing. Imagine if this still existed right on Bourke Street.
