Johnny Cash's American Recordings is a brilliant album.
It was fascinating to learn more about his career in a YouTube documentary I've previously mentioned. I particularly enjoyed this bit (timestamped at 1:17:49) where Rick Rubin meets Johnny Cash and they agree on making an album. That album was American Recordings.
Seeing him play guitar in Rick Rubins living room is incredibly cool.
The whole story of him bouncing back from another drug relapse and also after having a few decades of not that much success is really amazing.
